Dodgers rookie, Julio Urias, continues to impress down the stretch. Over his last six games (four starts), Urias has pitched to a 2.03 ERA with 26 strikeouts in 26 innings. His inability to go deep in games has haunted him most of the season, but he has pitched six innings in each of his last two starts. He had only pitched six innings once in his previous 12 games, so he’s trending in the right direction. Now he earns a date with the Padres who rank dead last in wOBA in the last 30 days while recording the highest strikeout rate in the same span.

Speaking of pitching six innings, Carlos Rodon has been a matchup at eating up innings for the White Sox this season. He’s pitched at least six innings in six straight and in 17 of his 22 starts this season. His last five have been impressive, holding opponents to a .212 batting average and a posting a 1.47 ERA. He will battle the Twins who are bottom third in the league in both offense and strikeout rate in the last month.
Andrew Cashner could be in big trouble tonight against the Indians. Cashner has been nothing special for the Marlins, allowing opponents to bat .325 against him in the last five games with a 5.48 ERA. The exciting part, if you are stacking against him, is how bad he can be very quickly. He is capable of giving up a big, crooked number at any given time. That’s going to be tough when he faces the Indians who have the third best offense in the league in the last 30 days and the third best offense at home this season. Cashner is a career National Leaguer who will have to battle a big time American League lineup tonight.
