George Hill looked great in his first game as a member of the Utah Jazz. Hill was asked to play 38 minutes in the opener. He poured in 19 points while taking 18 (!!) shots and added six assists. Hill launching 18 shots is noteworthy since he never reached that total in 74 games with the Pacers last season. A sublime matchup with the Lakers is on tap tonight. It will be hard to find another guy priced in this range that’s going to play as many minutes and handle the ball as often as George Hill.

It’s been easy to overlook Michael Kidd-Gilchrist who, thanks to injury, only played seven games last season. Well MKG cam flying out of the gates in the season opener scoring 23 points, hauling in 14 rebounds and playing 35 minutes. All of those were team highs for Charlotte. He likely going to be volatile since he won’t be the #1 scoring option on most nights, but he’s priced well at a very thin position.

Some potential value with Justin Hamilton at the Power Forward position. Hamilton played 25 minutes on Wednesday, which ended up being more than starter Trevor Booker. He poured in 19 points and 10 rebounds, while even knocking down three triples. That’s quite a lot of range for a seven footer. The Nets have a lot of issues, so Hamilton could be in-line for around 25 minutes a night.

Speaking of minutes, the Miami Heat are trying to find an identity without Dwyane Wade. I suspect we will see a lot of new rotations and usage rates will fluctuate. With that being said, through at least one game, the Heat have leaned on Justise Winslow. The second-year small forward led the team with 34 minutes against the Magic and provided a well rounded 15 points, 8 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and a steal. Here’s another situation where Winslow is likely priced incorrectly for his potential usage.

At the center position, you know all about Anthony Davis, so let’s not waste time there. I think Andre Drummond is the most interesting at the position. By his standards, he had a sub-par season opener. He scored 16 points but only hauled in six rebounds. That rebounding total would have been his second lowest total all last season. Remember, this is a guy who hauled in 10+ rebounds in 71 of 81 games in 2015-16. Drummond took an elbow to the face, forcing him to miss time early in the game, then he got into foul trouble. He was limited to only 24 minutes. That’s unlikely to happen too often to Drummond, so I am willing to buy low and fire him up against the Magic.
