MLB Preview, Wednesday June 21st – DraftKings & Fanduel

MLB Preview, Wednesday June 21st – DraftKings & Fanduel

Pitchers:

Jose Berrios is $11,400. I don’t want to pay that price for Berrios, who is extremely talented, but might not pay off his price. The White Sox, although were awful to righties in the beginning of the season, they have been average since. Jeff Samardzija has been great this season, although the game log might not suggest it. He has only struggled in tough match ups this season, but in Atlanta, he should be able to have another good start. Sun Trust Park isn’t a good park to pitch in, but on this slate it will have to do. Jordan Montgomery faces the Angeles, and whilst they don’t strikeout a lot, they aren’t very good. I wouldn’t expect massive upside from Montgomery in this spot, but a win could be in order. If you want a flier, Jeff Hoffman is good, just pitching in Coors is never great.

Hitters:

Cleveland Indians – Kevin Gausman just isn’t very good at baseball. He struggles to pound the strike zone, and gets hit hard. The Indians have been hot, and I expect it to continue. Top of the order is my preferred play.

Minnesota Twins – They get to face a lefty that struggles vs. righties. Sano, Dozier, Grossman and Vargas are in great spots today. They are cheap, so fitting in expensive one offs is a possibility.

Toronto Blue Jays – They disappointed the past couple days in the heat of Texas, but hopefully today will be the day. Tyson Ross is on the bump for the Rangers, and I just don’t think Ross is that good. He doesn’t throw a lot of strikes, and struggles vs. the lefties. Smoak and Morales are annoying to try to roster, but are both in good spots. The top of the order is my play.

C: Posey, Pina, Gattis, Rivera

1B: Bellinger, Holiday, Adams

2B: Taylor, Cano, Pinder

3B: Shaw, Machado Flores

SS: Seager, Arcia Motter

OF: Judge, Mazara, JD Martinez, Khris Davis, Gamel

Homerun calls of the day: 2 for 2 yesterday with a double dong from Machado. Today I’m going with Cody Bellinger and Khris Davis.

Pitchers:

Today’s pitching options are few and far between. At the to Chris Sale is my man today. He has been the pitcher in the MLB this season and K’s too many hitters to pass up. Yes he is very expensive so a fade in tournaments is always in play, but I have a value guy that could allow you to get Sale comfortably. If you’re nuts you could play Mr. boom or bust himself Francisco Liriano, but I’m not that nuts. Brandon McCarthy and Francis Martes are the two value guys I’m looking to today. I prefer Martes, with a better matchup, big ballpark and strikeout upside. We don’t know a lot about him, but he is a good option to save salary. McCarthy might be the safer play, because few people hit him hard. The macthup isn’t the best, but the Mets are banged up and could roll out a pretty bad lineup.

Hitters:

(Non Coors)

Seattle Mariners – They burned me today, but that won’t stop me from playing them today. Jordan Zimmermann isn’t good anymore. He can’t throw the ball past people, and his pitches get hit hard. Everyone is in play.

Clevland Indians – Chris Tilman has not pitched well this season. A .452 wOBA to lefties, which won’t help him at all with the Indians switch hitters. They have been fairly hot, and I expect it to continue. I prefer the lefties.

New York Yankees – They are at home vs. a pitcher that is relatively unknown. What we do know is that he does struggle to righties. It is a small sample size but the Yankees have right handed mashers that can tear Bridwell up.

C: Lucroy, Grandal, Norris

1B: Bellinger, Rizzo, Thames, Belt

2B: Dozier, Taylor, Panik, Camargo

3B: Donaldson, Shaw, Machado,

SS: Andrus, Crawford, Drew,

OF: Harper, Stanton, Ozuna, Seth Smith, Goodwin, Span, Moore,

Homerun call of the day:

Aaron Judge (shocking I know) and a lower owned guy, Manny Machado.

MLB Preview, Monday June 19th – DraftKings & Fanduel

MLB Preview, Monday June 19th – DraftKings & Fanduel

Pitchers:

11 games with Clayton Kershaw on the numb, and yes he is a good play. The Mets batters are mostly left handed, so Kershaw should be able to dominate. The problem is he costs $13,500 on Draftkings, and fitting in bats are difficult. Brad Peacock faces the A’s in Oakland. The A’s strikeout the 4th most to RHPs this season, and Peacock loves the K’s. He’s $8,100, with elite upside with at least 8Ks in 4 of his last 5 starts. Other than that the cheap options are very thin. Sam Gaviglio has been solid over his last 3 starts.

Hitters:

Seattle Mariners – They face Anibal Sanchez, so ya this could get ugly. Sanchez is flat out awful, making his first start in the MLB this season. Everyone is in play.

Houston Astros – You won’t be able to get Kershaw and this stack, but going low on your SP2 can get you Altuve, Springer, Correa and other Astros. They find themselves in a glorious matchup vs. Daniel Gossett in Oakland.

C: Wieters, Lucroy, Barnhardt

1B: Bellinger, Thames, Belt, Bour

2B: Murphy, Happ, Sogard

3B: Donaldson, Shaw, Gallo, Suarez

SS: Seager, Crawford, Riddle

OF: Harper, Dickerson, Kemp, Mallex Smith, Hamilton, Tyler Moore,

MLB Preview, Saturday June 17th – DraftKings & Fanduel

MLB Preview, Saturday June 17th – DraftKings & Fanduel

Pitching:

A full 15 game slate brings us plenty of pitching options, and at the top, we have Max Scherzer vs. the Mets. He is a fine play at $12,900, but there is reason to fade him. Yes he has been on fire, but the Mets do have some left handed pop. If Conforto plays, I’ll be more willing to fade Max. If he sits, we will see a Triple A call up thrown in the lineup. James Paxton has a high ceiling in this matchup vs. the Rangers, but could give up some bombs. He has been very good this season, and is in play in cash and GPPs. Jeff Samardzija pitches in Coors Field, but is in play. He has had good success in Coors, and presents very high K upside. Joe Biagini may become chalk, but is in a solid spot vs. the White Sox. If he becomes very chalky, I will fade, but I do like Biagini today.

Hitters:

St. Louis Cardinals – Gausman is trash vs, righties, Gyorko, Piscotty and Diaz are my favorite plays. Carpenter continues his hot streak in the leadoff spot. Camden Yards is a smaller park, with wind blowing out to left field.

Seattle Mariners – It’s super hot in Texas, the ball will be flying out of the park. Tyson Ross is making his start in the MLB since early 2016. He struggles vs. lefties and walks way too many batters. I’m looking to Cruz, Seager, Haniger, Cano and Gamel. For some reason Taylor Motter is only $2,500 on DK.

Milwaukee Brewers –  Miguel Diaz isn’t good. Thames and Shaw are in a fantastic spot, along with Broxton and Santana. .442 wOBA to lefties, so any lefty is in play. I doubt he goes long in this game, so we could see a lot of bullpen arms.

C: Avila, Grandal, Rupp

1B: Zimmerman, Rizzo, Bellinger, Morales

2B: Pedroia, Chris Taylor, Rutledge

3B: Donaldaon, Bryant, Moustakas

SS: Seager, Gregorius, Motter

OF: Betts, Duvall, Stanton, Ozuna, Schwarber, Altherr, Jorge Bonafacio, Marisnick

MLB Preview, Friday June 16th – DraftKings & Fanduel

MLB Preview, Friday June 16th – DraftKings & Fanduel

Pitchers:

A 7 game main slate has some interesting pitching options. Chris Sale tops the pitchers pricing at $14,100 on DK. He is a fine play, as he face the Phillies, who do like to strikeout a lot. You could fit him in, but it is not likely you can fit Sale and Coors bats in the same lineup. Jordan Montgomery faces the A’s in Oakland, so he will have a big park to work with. We all know the A’s suck, and Montgomery has put up big numbers in 3 of his last 4 starts. I think Jordan Montgomery will be chalky, so a fade in GPPs is in play. Jeff Hoffman is pitching in Coors, but has pitched great this season. The first game in Coors is normally the lowest scoring so Hoffman isn’t the worst play on the board, if you can tolerate the risk.

Hitters:

Boston Red Sox – Pivetta’s trash and can’t get past 5 innings. .428 wOBA to righties and .375 to lefties. I prefer the Betts, Pedroia, Bogaerts and Ramirez, but the lefties are fine too.

St. Louis Cardinals – Zach Davies allows a .425 wOBA to righties Gyorko, Piscotty and Martinez (if you pay up for Sale). Carpenter has been killing it in the leadoff spot.

New York Yankees – Sonny Gray isn’t great and gives up a lot of hits. The hits that normal teams get, could be HRs with Judge Sanchez and Holiday. They should go low owned with the Red Sox and Coors field on the slate.

One offs:

C: Alex Avila, Salvador Perez, Ryan Hanigan

1B: Ryan Zimmerman, Eric Thames

2B: Whit Merrifield, Eric Sogard

3B: Wilmer Flores, Travis Shaw

SS: Andrelton Simmons

OF: Jorge Bonaficio, Yoenis Cespedes, Juan Lagares, Mallex Smith, Corey Dickerson, Lorenzo Cain
