Daily MLB Projections – Fanduel

Daily MLB Projections – Fanduel

Now that we have some data to work with, I would like to introduce the MLB Projections! I plan on posting these every day to help you create your lineups. They will be embedded in a Google Spreadsheet (below) for easy viewing and available for download as a perk to our Pro Members.

These projections are our most complex projections to date. They are much more advanced than our NBA Projections and I am proud to unveil them. What you’ll notice that differs from a lot of other sites is that we are able to calculate the probability of a player scoring 2x, 3x and 4x value for each night. Since we have accumulated so much data over multiple seasons, we can use a players consistency rating amongst other factors to assign those milestones a probability. This will come in handy depending on the format of contest that you play allowing you to choose players who most closely fit the type of player you want to roster.

Also, for the first time ever, we are offering personal MLB projection sheets. This is your chance to buy a projection sheet that you, and only you, have access to. This could be useful for unlimited sorting, tweaking and customization. Each sheet comes with a series of video tutorials to show you how to update it on a daily basis. You can also find the DraftKings projections here.

MLB Player Scoring Calendar

MLB Player Scoring Calendar

Introducing the MLB Player Scoring Calendar! This is something that was a hit during the NBA season, so we brought it back for MLB. It’s a visual representation of the Game Logs Database. It will allow you to easily scroll through and find out which players have been scoring well lately, as opposed to over the course of the entire season. Also, we will be able to find trends like how hot a player is or if he is slumping. This includes both hitters and pitchers for both DraftKings and Fanduel scoring.

Glossary:

L7 and L30: Last seven days and last thirty days
HEAT: How “hot” a player is. His L7/L30 average versus his season average
STD DEV: The mathematical calculation of standard deviation. For fantasy purposes, it’s how spread out his range of outcomes are.

There are two ways to view the Player Calendar:

MLB: 2016 Game Logs Database

MLB: 2016 Game Logs Database

The MLB Game Logs Database is exactly what it sounds like, it’s every game log for every player who starts a game this season. It can be used to help identify trends, create projections or be the source data for countless models. It includes all the game information, DraftKings/Fanduel scoring and Vegas lines and over/unders. The pitchers and hitters are on separate tabs within one spreadsheet. This will be updated (as close to) daily as possible. This will likely grow to about 50,000 games played. If you are interesting is starting off with last year’s information, that can be found here. I am trying to make this as easy as possible for you to use. So this will be updated regularly in a few versions:
