D+D Czech Masters – Albatross Golf Resort (2016)

Don’t miss the chance to roster some of your favorite European tour players this week because there may not be too many offerings left, with the FedEx cup playoffs coming into full swing after this week! Here is a breakdown of the golfers who have hot and cold course history and form coming into the Czech Masters this week. As always good luck!

Hot Course History:

Jamie Donaldson ($10,200) – The only reliable course history we have this week is from 2014 and 2015 which means we are dealing with small sample sizes here. Jamie Donaldson has played this course one time and left with a trophy which is enough to qualify him for this section with only two years of data. While I don’t think it’s particularly likely that Donaldson defends his win by hoisting hardware at the end of the week it’s certainly worth taking into consideration when building lineups this week.

Craig Lee ($7,400) – With not much course history to go off of in terms of course history this week, Craig Lee is the only golfer in the field who has top fifteen finishes in both 2014 and 2015. At this price I think Lee makes an interesting sleeper being one of the few golfers with elite course history in the field.

Cold Course History:

Richard Bland ($8,400) – One interesting way to be contrarian this week may be to find golfers who have poor course history knowing that others will be off of them despite having such a small sample size. Richard Bland is a golfer who certainly qualifies with a sixtieth place finish and a missed cut in his two recent tries. As one of the quality golfers in the field I think Bland should get an ownership drop that may not be warranted this week.

David Horsey ($7,300) – This was a pretty tough choice to make this week since there are tons of golfers in the field who have missed cuts in both of their appearances here, but Horsey is the highest priced golfer who qualifies which means there are probably better options with a bit more value and less risk than Horsey.

Hot Recent Form:

Thomas Pieters ($12,300) – You may have missed it because he wasn’t featured on the podium but Thomas PIeters finished last week’s Olympic games with an impressive fourth place finish. While he doesn’t exactly have great form that spans weeks on end, Pieters’ play was extremely impressive last week which is enough for me to want to start a lot of my lineups with him.

Andy Sullivan ($12,400) – I know I may be cheating a bit here by mentioning two high priced golfers in this section, but there just aren’t any other golfers that stand out with a resume that belongs in the hot recent form section. Alternatively, Andy Sullivan has made seven straight cuts dating back twelve weeks and has two top ten finishes in that span. Andy Sullivan is hot recently and there is no questioning whether or not he belongs here this week.

Cold Recent Form:

Matthew Fitzpatrick ($10,700) – We are just starting to see Fitzpatrick starting to trend upward with his recent sixteenth place finish, however prior to that start he had a forty-ninth place finish predated by four straight missed cuts. For a golfer this expensive with such poor form I’ll be taking the wait and see approach.

Bradley Dredge ($9,500) – Dredge was once a fairly popular option when it came to Euro tour DFS but by now I think most have probably gotten off of him, and for good reason. Having finished no better than twenty-eighth in his last six starts with three missed cuts, I don’t think Dredge has the upside we are looking for in GPPs this week.
