Hot Course History:

Joost Luiten ($11,900) – Joost Luiten presents a fantastic option this week at the Lyoness Open having never finished worse than third place in three showings at this event. Luiten’s win in 2013 is just the icing on the cake in what is an elite history that leaves me wondering how anybody could make a case for fading him.

Gregory Bourdy ($10,600) – Gregory Bourdy is ranked in the top 150 in the official world golf rankings and has never finished worse than eighteenth at this event giving him definite GPP upside this week. He won’t make the hot recent form section of the article but it’s worth mentioning he has made seven straight cuts and his two most recent finishes were fifteenth and tenth.

Cold Course History:

Chris Hanson ($7,200) – Chris Hanson has only played this event once and missed the cut. While it may not be a large sample size, nor is it enough to warrant avoiding him completely it is certainly enough to give me pause when building lineups.

Bernd Wiesberger ($11,600) – Bernd Wiesberger is no slouch at this event by any means but it is worth mentioning that following four straight years of elite course history, Bernd missed his first cut at this event last year. With Wiesberger likely being a popular option this week his missed cut last year may be a reason to consider fading him.

Hot Recent Form:

Matt Wallace ($6,600) – Matt Wallace is coming off three straight wins on the Alps Tour, and while I don’t necessarily put a lot of stock into Alps tour performance, it’s not easy to win three straight golf tournaments no matter what tour. We saw Wallace come out firing last week at the Nordea masters with an opening round 68, but it was his final round 80 that left him with a 53rd finish. I expect Wallace to put together four good rounds on the Euro tour at some point soon.

Chris Wood ($11,500) – There aren’t many golfers who set up better for the Lyoness Open than Chris wood who is coming off a win two weeks ago. With only one missed cut in 18 weeks Chris Wood present a very safe option with definite top ten upside. Oh and by the way, Chris wood is the defending champion at this event.

Cold Recent Form:

Lucas Bjerregaard ($9,400) – Despite having a 20th place finish last week Bjerragaard has four missed cuts in six events. It’s enough to make him a complete fade in my book until further notice.

Anthony Wall ($6,900) – Anthony Wall is just one of many players I will be completely fading this week largely due to the fact that he has seven missed cuts in his last nine events. I’m not sure exactly what’s causing Wall problems but I am going to wait to see some consistent golf our of Wall before he finds his way onto any of my teams.
