Pitchers:

Today’s slate might have the worst pitching options of the year. Strasburg leads these options, but in the heat, he struggles. The first pitcher that I have interest in is Masahiro Tanaka, facing an awful White Soxs team. He has gotten the strikeout pitch working the last 3 starts, racking up 27Ks. The White Sox have a right handed heavy lineup, so Tanaka has an even better chance of dealing today. We are going to get to pay up for bats today with my next 2 options. The safe option is Ivan Nova. You can almost guarantee 6IP, but he K upside is in question. He get a K heavy team in the Rays, but Nova himself pitches to contact. Luis Perdomo faces the Braves at home. Perdomo is a super ground ball heavy pitcher, who dominates at home. Both options are GPP only.

Hitters:

New York Yankees – Carlos Rodon is making his first start of the year today, and he gets thrown in the fire against the Yankees. He has been awful in his rehab starts, and struggles to find the strike zone. Judge Sanchez, Gregorius and Torreyes.

Houston Astros – They get to face Jesse Hahn at home. The last time he faced the Astros, he gave up 5 runs. Hahn doesn’t overpower batters, and when the fast guys get on, they will be able to run on any Oakland catchers.

Washington Nationals – John Lackey has been pretty good in a couple of soft match ups, but the Nats are not that. They stole 7 bases of Montero yesterday, and if they start him again the base paths will be wide open again. Lackey doesn’t hold on runners well. The big lefties in this lineup in Harper and Murphy are my favorite plays, with Turner and Zimmerman too.

Toronto Blue Jays – They just burned everyone, and are in a good spot again.
