Welcome to “The Charts”, a series that will take a deep dive on a weekly basis into PGA salaries, Vegas odds, Expected Ownership, and last but certainly not least; value. In a world where the edges in daily fantasy are so slim, every informational advantage possible needs to be exploited aggressively without hesitation. Salary Vs. Vegas Odds
The salary vs. vegas odds chart is probably one of the best charts for identifying value out there, and from week to week since the onset of this series we’ve seen the value perform well. This week there is no exception and as usual there are a couple of players who seem to stand out when it comes to salary and odds to win. Charley Hoffman is probably most interesting with a salary of under $7k, he is clearly the odds on favorite to win in that salary range. On a course that has been notorious for winners being over the age of 35 seems like Hoffman is definitely a steal. The other player who stand out is Ryan Blaum who is relatively new on tour but has only 80:1 odds to win at only $6,900. I’m not sure Blaum is a lock to top the leaderboard but definitely marks a great GPP option.

Salary Vs. Ownership Projections
For those of you who are unfamiliar with my work, each week I do ownership projections that have stood the test of time, and been proven accurate for nearly an entire golf season. The ownership projections you see here are my initial projections and will be updated as the week goes on so be sure to follow me on twitter to find out where you can get all the most updated ownership information.
Notice anything yet? That tiny speck way outside the limits of the points on the plot is not a mistake. In fact, that outlier of a data point is John Rahm who stormed onto the scene late last season and has racked up 8 top 25 finishes in 11 events. His ownership last week breached the 30% mark in a lot of places and with a fifteenth place finish last week I expect the same. His salary has climbed and he has yet to win on tour so I think Rahm definitely makes a case for a fade this week.

Vegas Odds Vs. Ownership Projections
On the flip side of the value coin, we have Jim Furyk and Marc Leishman as standouts in the low ownership department. Both are expected to come in at the lowest ownership in their salary ranges primarily due to recent form (or lack thereof in Furyk’s case). Both golfers however should have decent upside and are definitely cash game viable options. Both Leishman and Furyk seem to fit the course like a glove with accuracy and approach proximity requirements playing into their favor I will be rostering both in GPPs and potentially both could make my cash game lineup.
